2 Inspiring methods for freehand miniature painting

Freehand on miniatures and Warhammer can seem so daunting. Together with Sebastian aka Nero Miniatures we got a video to inspire you to try out free hand textures and art on your miniatures. Painting a skull on a Space Marine Terminator and textures on Morathi from Age of Sigmar hopefully giving you some new inspiration to be brave in your painting. I'm pretty sure there's something in there for warhammer beginner painters as the more seasoned vets.

Important note, this video was recorded before the spread of virus in Sweden. At the moment we're practicing painting on separate locations. :)

"In the first step you can see Sebastian is making the basic shape os the skull"
My man, that first step was already good enough for a final step hahahaha

As a tattoo artist, it’s bizarre how much I reference my original drawing and my color study during a tattoo. I know I drew it, colored it, and having a stencil, etc. but I look at reference CONSTANTLY! great tutorial!

It’s good to see the process of building up layers. I have been drawing for over fifteen years, and I will say the hardest part of drawing is knowing what you see opposed to what you think you see.

Great video, thanks for sharing. 1:34 Kaha is a great painter, I love her unique style. I joined her workshop and spent great time. Not easy to get these color transitions, patterns and so on, but it was a great experience.

You can totally tell he's a tattoo artist just by the way he lays out his paints. Great work!

I don't usually respond to tutorials but when I do, I like to pay a shit ton respect to the artist.

Seriously. This. Is. Godlike.

Loving the video! Can't agree enough with some of the comments: The videos really helps showcase the techniques and break them down in easier chunks. Thanks for all the amazing content! Looking forward to all that is to come! :D

Amazing. I'm painting a chaos army and been surfing around for ideas for the wings for Archaon and the dragons - this is a great idea! My army is featuring dark red capes and blue shields so it's perfect! I feel ready! Thanks for a awesome channel - so much inspiration.

I'm not into Warhammer or big Armies & speed painting. I DIDN'T expect to get SO MUCH from Squidmar videos, lol. But I find myself sharing many of them, and coming back to several of them again & again!! I've shared on Vince Venturella's PMP Facebook page, and directly with other painters. THIS is the BEST video on Dragon Wings EVER!!! Thank you SO MUCH! I've learned a lot & improved my painting with Squidmar's help quite a bit😁❤️👍👍

Ya, so another cool tutorial really enjoyed that one. & it just goes to show ya no matter how good you become it pays to constantly study your example as your working on your piece. It’s to easy to forget something along the way. Reminds me of a world class tattooist that did a tattoo of map of Canada but the west coast was on the east side and east on west.... on a customers arm. Funny thing is it took the guy a few days to realize it was wrong. I’ll bet someone pointed it out to him. Great one though really enjoy your stuff. Thanks so much for all the time, energy & effort you put into your tutorials.

The technic used on the wing is the same thing that you can use with your airbrush to create true fire. Nicely done. Like the skull a lot.

I don't paint that many fantasy miniatures like you but I paint historical figures mostly from WW2 but so many of your techniques helps me with refining my skills of what little I have. Blending with acrylics is still a struggle so I am always watching to see more techniques. Thanks for the videos!
