@Altenew • Jen: Great technique. Time to look through my stash to see how I can apply it. This technique seems like a great way to practice watercolor techniques like blending, adding pigment, etc., without the mess & clean-up time.

Children and other newbies to watercoloring might be more comfortable with this technique than trying to control a whole background of watercolor.

Thanks for covering the papers to use and their properties. That knowledge saves us time & money for experimentation whenever we branch out from basic card stock.

I'm not that great yet at watercolor either so I bought myself some watercolor pens and it works great!
