I have a 7 month old Rottweiler. To prevent this behavior remember that you are the controller of the resources. The moment this puppy shows aggression with food the food should be taken away. The puppy should be made to sit and wait until he is given the OK command to accept the food you have allowed him to have. You must be ALPHA with them. The only abuse this dog has probably received is allowing it to behave this way around food. This is a tragedy waiting to happen. This dog thinks he already owns everyone.

I had a Rottweiler as a kid and I made the mistake of encouraging this behavior as a pup. Then one day as he was fully grown I went to pet him while he was eating and he growled like this and almost took my hand off... This is dangerous behavior and should be taken seriously.

At meal time I've always got all my pups to sit give me eye contact. When I'm satisfied they've acknowledged that I'm the guardian/owner/parent I'll then place the food down calmly. I even sometimes will feed them by hand, so they are totally at ease. Never had any issues. Dogs enjoy firm education and pleasing us. Once they master those two then you can love em and spoil them because they've throughly deserved it 😊❤
