In this video, we talk about NASA's InSight lander and its purpose on the Red Planet. By starting with what makes Earth habitable, we step through our understanding of Earth and try to create questions we may ask about our neighboring planet Mars. Then we connect those questions to the actual experiments InSight will be performing on Mars, and what we hope to get out of them. For more information on the InSight mission and to see the Livestream check the following links.

can you comment at all on the effectiveness of martian shale/fracking operations perhaps? it could be a good motivation for funding a mars mission

drilling 16 ft deep into the surface of mars is nothing, they are gonna use a lot of assumptions to come to any conclusions from data gathered at 16 ft deep. Get some humans there with real machinery and drill a real hole if you want answers. its pathetic its been 42 years of surface machine activity on mars and we still havent sent humans.
