it's affordable and reliable with a ton of cargo space in a small platform... kind of the perfect city car and I actually like the exterior style, people just hate new things and think they need some kind of race car to get to their job selling cell phone cases at the mall - those people are wrong, the xB is great

Legit bummed that Scion never lived up to its promise of being a radical brand that gives no fucks about convention, especially during a decade that was already giving us some of the wildest concept cars ever (including Scion's own t2b). I didn't need any youth-oriented marketing to get excited about that idea. And once their parents had sounded off on how stupid they thought the cars looked, neither would any other teen.

Drove an 08 one as a uber vehicle and got nothing but compliments on how spacious the interior is. It's kind of the perfect vehicle for doing ridesharing. Easy to clean, moderately economical, lots of cargo space, and pretty comfy seats.

Your point about older people liking the xB because it's easier to get out of is absolutely correct. My 67 year old, handicapped father (spinal arthritis), bought a 1st gen 2005 Scion xB for this reason. I can't speak for the second generation because I've never been in one, but the first gen is a pretty comfortable car. It doesn't have much power, but I've never had too much trouble passing, or accelerating on to the highway under normal conditions (our 2005 is a 5-speed manual). It's fairly good in the snow and bad weather as well. Also has a good amount of room inside for hauling stuff around when you fold the rear seats down.

Just got a great deal on a 2014 xB automatic.  I always wanted one of these so since this is the last year for the xB, I traded in my 2003 Corolla.  The replacement for the xB is going to be a "hot hatch" that is not nearly as roomy.
  The engine is powerful enough to nullify any annoyance related to the 4 speed transmission.  I really like the xB.

I've owned clk 55 amg, xjrs and e55 amgs, scion is by far more enjoyable to drive cause you don't have to worry about the insane maintenance and parts, you get a better peice of mind with a scion

Loved mine. Spacious, fuel efficient, nimble for its power, and managed to strike the balance between having nice features and being bare bones. I also liked the way it looks too. All in all a fantastic little economic car. The fact that people seemed to make fun of it cause it's easy enough for the elderly to drive just confuses me.
