In her new book, "Oath and Honor," former Rep. Liz Cheney describes the reactions of some of her Republican colleagues to her support for impeaching Donald Trump over his effort to undermine the outcome of the 2020 election, and highlights the particularly raw feelings of some of the men she had to deal with. Rachel Maddow reads select passages.

It takes a lot of courage as a woman, to stand up to bullying by colleagues (men and women) and keep holding the line of your own boundaries no matter what. She is a great role model and inspiration for all women. Protecting her integrity. Doing the right thing. It's just not that popular, anymore. 🧐

This book sounds like the burn that keeps on burning! Kudos to Liz Cheney!

The nerve of that woman - standing up to men in the name of principles, reason, and truth like that. And with a defiant tone, no less. Shameful, I tell you - shameful. Next thing you know, they'll be wanting the vote...

I don't agree with her politics, but she had the guts to go after would-be-fascists at her own expense.
Credit where credit is due.

Liz Cheney frustrates them because she is held in higher esteem than them and they can't even accuse her of sleeping her way to the top.

"Why are you making me look bad by being principled?!"

I disagree with most of what Cheney stands for, but she has integrity - unlike 99% of the GOP

Decades later when people study the death of democracy, this book will be vital to the effort.

They (the GOP men) don't take women's feelings into account, only their own weak selves.

It seems Elise Stefanik, a Harvard University graduate, never learned the difference between right and wrong. It's hilariously sad that she blames Liz Cheney for angry constituents asking Elise why she didn't follow Liz's cue and "take a principled stand"!

Fantastic move to mention names in her book, this brings events into sharp focus and shows those folk for who they really are.

Elisabeth Cheney is way too honest, way too honorable and way too smart to be a GOP member.

"not liking the tone" is classic political mysogyny worldwide

She was not being relentless.
She was being professional.
I do not support Liz Cheney's politics.
However, I admire her greatly in how she has firmly opposed Trump's treason.

Cheney is about the only Republican with any honour or decency. She alone on that side of politics deserves to represent the American people.

'We don't care about your feelings' then the Republicans start blubbing because Liz Cheney hurt their feelings. 😂😂😂

Knowing it would cost her everything Liz Cheney proved to have courage, patriotism and was true to the Oath she swore to the Constitution. She put Country over Party.

Liz Cheney has accomplished more than any legislator, man or woman, I have ever seen. She will go down in history as one of the greatest of all time who made such a sacrifice for our country. I include her in the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Jim Clyburn, John Lewis, Adam Kinzinger, Hillary Clinton, John Kasich, and John McCain. You lost your seat, but you didn’t lose your soul Ms. Cheney. You showed us how to disagree and honor one another again.

Wow the misogyny of these men 🙄. I love how she calls all of these people out in her book. Definitely their problem
