A Return To Salem's Lot - Official Trailer

IN THIS SLEEPY TOWN, THERE IS NO REST FOR THE LIVING ... OR THE DEAD.

The terrifying tale of Salem's Lot continues in the shocking and satirical A Return To Salem's Lot! Beneath the quaint, picture-perfect exterior of a small New England community lurks an unsettling, undead evil: vampires. When fresh blood comes to town in the form of amoral anthropologist Joe Weber and his son Jeremy, the vampires employ the father to document their story. But when the stakes are raised, Joe must take on the hellish horde or lose his son ... and his soul.

Directed and co-written by genre legend Larry Cohen (the It's Alive trilogy, Black Caesar, God Told Me To) and featuring Michael Moriarty (the star of Cohen's Q: The Winged Serpent), A Return To Salem's Lot is a ghoulishly clever follow-up to the hit miniseries based on master of horror Stephen King's acclaimed novel.

Not a single change with any of the vampires, they were literally just sinister cannibal children running around at night and committing child marriage, and even still when they all burnt it looked so fake, they didn't try, the first salems lot was more terrifying than this trash

One of those movies where it was so bad it was actually entertaining.
The four letter swearing kid was funny.
Some terrible acting at the beginning might have you stop early on, but give it more of a chance.

This film actually wasn't that bad. Was it perfect? No, but it had a few creepy moments and Samuel Fuller nails it.

Nowhere near as good as the 1979 original.

I have not yet seen a return to Salem's lot, but I did recently see the remake of Salem's lot, and it doesn't even compare to the original mini series with David Soul! Although the remake had big stars like Donald Sutherland and Rob Lowe, it was a huge yawner! The original is still the best and scarier by far!!! They should of left well enough alone, cause the remake really wasn't good.

This movie was dissed as being a poor quality sequel to "Salem's Lot". But it's actually quite good. A quirky, clever, witty, and even funny take on the original. I actually found it less intense and overwhelming---and thus more enjoyable---than the original.

Awful. Terrible. Worst movie ever. Makes Jason vs Freddy look like the godfather. Absolute disgrace.

This place is cursed, peck. It's falling apart. Open your eyes! - Madmartigan, Willow (1988)
Because... for some people, solitude and isolation can, in itself, become a problem. - Mr. Stuart Ullman, The Shining (1980)
It's a quiet, peaceful place, and yet, somehow... foreboding. It abounds in haunted spots, twilight tales and local superstitions. - Narrator, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949)
Supposin' the cops finger us for a job and they start asking us questions about a murder in the area. Wouldn't it be nice to have a face to go with their questions? - Harold "Harry" Lyme, Home Alone (1990)

I think the issue with this film was it was branded kind of a Salems lot sequel, and even had Mr. Barlow on the cover but instead it was basically it’s own film and really had nothing to do with Salems lot other than the name of the town. Plus it was unexpectedly a comedy in ways it’s horror audience wasn’t prepared for so it felt off. If it was advertised/ branded differently, they probably would’ve been a bit more successful. Although I would’ve liked a Salems Lot with a Mr. Barlow return within the time that Reggie Nadler was able to do it.

Does anyone know the exact location of the return to Salem's lot? Where some of the buildings are etc?

This trailer is a desultory? Is that the word I'm looking for? Doesn't exactly whip you up into a frenzy to see the film.
