Kurdish does not derive from Persian, but from proto-indo-Iranian, thus Persian and Kurdish stem from the same language, but Kurdish does not come from Persian.

I can’t believe a page that calls itself “American Language Services” can’t discern between one language descending from another and two languages having one original root and developing side by side. Kurdish, according to all linguists worth their salt, developed alongside Persian as a separate language. They both descended from earlier Iranic languages, the same way Balochi and Old Azeri descended from those archaic Iranic languages, but separate from their sister languages. The American Language Services, wether it is a real organization or not, should either correct or delete this video to stop the spread of misinformation.
