Quick tips on cleaning up your noisy footage in Resolve.

About:
I am a professional colorist and have worked with brands such as Prime Video, Adidas, Toyota, Vizio, etc. Outside client work, I run a color academy with over 6000 students. My channel mostly focuses on the taste-making (subjective) aspect of color grading. With the rise of AI, I truly believe that most of the grunt, technical (how-to) tasks will be handled by the software, and the job of a colorist will be purely driven by their art and imagination.

I've really settled in on sharpening along side reducing mid tone detail. It will sharpen up eyes and things you want but leave hair, and skin soft. Like -25 midtone and -46-48 sharping.

YouTube compression is like "Yeah Nah brah, you don't need to see the before and afters, just keep it all compressed 👍"

How do you "punch in" to see a section of a video for editing? I know the mouse wheel zooms in. But must be a key pressed perhaps to move the video around.

Man, you're the best! I almost went crazy trying finding this key combination for before and after, but now I can crank up my color grading speed sooo much! ✌

Thanks! I have to say it is difficult for me to understand the difference between the noise and the grain. Some time the grain just looks like noise... Can you explain please?

Interesting! Thanks! ANOTHER way to sharpen is to set a NODE to LAB and use the sharpening in the same tab as you mentioned (not blur) - by clicking the right / 3rd icon.

Awesome videos, Sir.
I would love to learn color grading a motion picture film, because most of the time on YouTube, I find how to get the film look digitally, but less of how to grade the actual film.

So you don't recommend using a plug-in like the noise reduction plug-in from Neat Video?

How you zoomed in & out on the program out window?

Also how to see before after, enable disable any node?

Or do share your shortcuts of resolve
