📜 Ibn Battuta: The Great Traveler - Ibn Battuta set out for the city of Mecca and expected to be gone for a little over two years, maybe three if he took his time. He had no way of knowing that he would not see his home city or town for another 24 years. In that time, he will have traveled almost the entirety of the Islamic world, gone for over 75,000 miles, and write a travelogue that scholars still refer to understand the world of the 15th century. He's also a bit of a narc.

*Miss an episode in our Ibn Battuta Series?*

Correction: Muslims do not bow down to the footprints of Abraham near the Kabba. Instead, they pray and bow down to the God of Abraham near the Kaaba

I'd like to point out that Hajj isn't only an Islamic duty of men but also women

"in addition to descriptions of food, agriculture, religious life and court processions, he often remarked on how attractive he found the local ladies"
Good grief, history stole _another_ trope from anime.

Ibn Battuta: is a judge.
Also Ibn Battuta: is very judgemental.

That makes sense.

"Curiosity and the seeking of knowledge is considered a religious duty" A great quote, and a forgotten one to many muslims today. Thanks for bringing it up.

The funniest thing I found in his book, about his travels.
That he's shocked about The Chinese cuisine😂😂
