La Secretaría de Gobernación, de tratarse de nacionales mexicanos. En algún lado escuché que los nombres de estos "organismos" no se traducen al español, así como se habla de la "migra" todo cambia en los tribunales a nivel nacional ¿no se podría manejar como el "Departamento/Ministerio de Seguridad Nacional" (o interior)? Digo yo... Para clerk usas "actuario" y yo suelo usar "funcionario", también he visto secretario del tribunal cosa que alargaría la interpretación...

Thanks for the video! I’m so curious about the simultaneous interpreting you did in this video. You were able to carry the flow so smoothly is it all the court hearings starting with the same script and just changing the name of the person and some personal details so over the time you can almost interpret them on top of your head ? Where can I find the transcripts? Thanks

The correct word in Spanish for "qualified" is "capacitado." So, the sentence "John is a highly qualified teacher." would be translated "Juan es un maestro altamente capacitado."

Hello Rosa,
I am 3 days into the SOSI Immigration court training. The manual is huge, and I also have a full load of university assignments to complete....and I am a mom to a toddler as well. I am fluent in Spanish, and have experience in L3 interpreting, but all this new vocabulary is so foreign to me, its like a tounge twister trying to say it at 160 WPM. I am also worried about all the localization charts they gave us, it's already so much to take in, I don't know if my brain can sort which term to use for each specific country. In short, do you have any advice on what parts I should prioritize, and what parts I should sort of not worry about too much? I am prioritizing the key patterns that are used - the parts that are usually scripted and, in our labs, ...but besides that will the 300+ criminal terms be relevant for the test? About how many hours of studying did you dedicate to the course to master the content in two weeks? I would really appreciate any tips or feedback on your experience! Thank you so much Rosa.
