Was on a long haul flight on Qatar Airways and found this gem of a show by coincidence. Was a wonderful chemistry and entertaining show. I like Andrew’s great historical research even mentioning influence of Arabic culture (something not admitted so openly sometimes).

Amazingly unassuming, unpretentious, artistically dramatic in every corner, spectacular, sunny, engaging human beings, culturally rich and robust! Life is lived as I believe it should be!!!!

I am from Brazil. Sicily remember me the baroque architecture of our historic colonial cities in South America.

i go back to Enna to Parelmo in June, almost because of your video! every year in summer, Italy, Sicilia has been exciting me so much what you experienced and enjoyed there. the white Stucco(right spelling?)church is also my coincidental discovery, just behind my 3 stars simple hotel.(i go back there as well, because of this creamy white most dreamy church! ) well endless, but i say OPERA is Puppet show, that many people in Vienna make a wry face.sorry, but they are quite wrong! puppet show is an universal art, and so the opera is!(i draw opera performance in the dark, while they are performing.)you 2 are relaxed and full of joy for the culture of Italy, Sicilia. i stay in Puglia, and trip to Sicilia, all by bus!! beautiful! ---i watched all your videos, and occasionally even rewatching them. you 2 are real culture lover! wonderful! its almost rare in our world now.carry on please!!!

I love the video, but pasta con sarde is eaten on the feast of St Joseph. Breadcrumbs used in place of cheese and sardines in place of meat because the feast falls during Lent.

These two are a great team, Giorgio is, like myself, an art novice but appreciative and Andrew never comes across as a pompous know all, Sicily and its art and culture are the stars.

damn that dish with the sardines (25:00) looks and sounds so tasty !! I have just been straight onto Amazon to buy best canned sardines I could get - hahahahaha the palace they went to afterwards reminds me of the Alhambra - also Moor influence, innit ! awsome fish filleting at 28:30 awsome painting at 29:56 - thanks for dwelling on it :-) omg what a place !

Locatelli pretending he's not born 800 miles away from Sicily. It's a like a guy from Vermont speaking about Puerto Rico
