Michael Scott is an awesome historian and marvellous narrator. I'm not sure why so many in the comments dislike him. He's clear, enthusiastic but most importantly understands what it means to be Italian and more importantly Sicilian. Everyone he talks to begins apprehensive at a BBC historian but relaxes when they realises he understands them culturally - great Italian speaker too

I'm Danish I'm and married to a very attractive Sicilian man with light skin (Tan in the summer) brown hair and blue-green eyes.We net shortly after we both moved to the USA 7 years ago.Ive learned so much about Sicily because of him and i love going to visit his family on the island.Ive also taught him about danish culture and he also loves our trips to Denmark but its to cold for him lol

So beyond grateful that my late Italian husband who's Sicilian by blood but born and raised in Milan, lived in Milan, took me all over this island of Sicily. From Messina, Catania, Palermo, Agrigento, Taormina, Erice, Trappani, just eating and drinking, strolling in Cefalu every night before and after dinner, where his family is from and we stayed at his simple villa and vineyard in an area I forgot but you have to pass Finale and into all those valleys in order to go to his land. Thank you, amore mio!

My late brother-in-law grew up in Malawi, went to boarding school in Edinburgh, lived in the English Cotswolds, and travelled on every continent.
He said his best holiday was in Sicily.

His mispronunciation of Segesta and Siracusa is annoying, but the historic narrative is fascinating and well done. I've lived in Sicily for 15 years and have traveled there every year for the past 30 years---I absolutely love it and have often brought groups of tourists to visit its myriad wonders.

At 13:00 the vineyard with the amphora technique is Laconda COS in Vittoria (Ragusa). I was in Sicily last week and by chance booked a tour of the facility.

I believe my great relatives came from Sicily back in the 19th century to the US. I got a DNA analysis in 2016 and found out I am 54% Greek 45% Italian with the rest North African. This video explains why my DNA is mostly Greek.

Excellent narrator, beautiful place. No one is accurate or precise in any history, but we have an idea what Sicily went through. We seem to have a lot of expert comments on here, maybe they would like to do a video, then again... maybe not, as all they are good for is critical and fault picking comments.
