Why can't Power BI connect to my cloud source???

Hi Adam, very informative video as always. What is the best options to enable cross-tenant power bi data refresh as VNet data gateway will not work in that scenario? VNet data gateway currently only works if the Azure data source and PowerBi are on the same tenant unfortunately and will not work across the regions as well. I am working on a project where in we need to schedule data refresh from one organization's Azure SQL DB to one of thier clients Power Bi (B2B scenario). Our client (one with azure sql DB) does not have PowerBi and do not want to buy Power Bi lisence, hence in-place data sharing is not an option. In such scenario, what is the best option? Thank you in advance for your help.

does the "on-premises data gateway" (opdg) have all the functionality of the "vnet data gateway"? its sounded like the opdg can connect to anything BUT the vnetdg can only connect to azure services. did i interpret that correctly? thx!

Hi Adam, great video as usual. I'm struggling with connecting to a firewall protected ADLS, getting a similar error as the one you're getting in the second case (the Allow Azure services on the trusted services list to access this storage account is enabled). The difference is we're getting this error as we try to connect from power bi desktop in a local machine using the AAD credentials (If we use the storage account key it works fine). Do you know why this might be happening? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Adam, this video really cleared things. We're currently working with a VNET gateway to get PowerBI to work with the data in our Azure SQL Database. But now we want to combine that with some data from SharePoint lists. In Power BI Desktop this works perfectly, but when publishing it to Power BI Services it is expecting to retrieve the SharePoint data from the VNET Gateways aswell. Is this even possible or should we work with an on premisse gateway over here?

My architecture is based on push datasets. So, the new data is being pushed every 15 minutes to Power BI via APIs. And its sad that clients often cannot fully benefit from that data: calculated columns not allowed, merging with other data sources is not possible. It would be great to be able to connect a Power BI dataset with another Push Datasets.

Thanks for the insightful video!!! I created a report which retrieves data from MySQL db. I managed to refresh the data in PowerBI Service by creating a Personal gateway, but when I am off the refresh schedules I've created do not run. I am getting "Your data gateway is offline"... Are there alternatives? :/
