2025 BYD Sealion 7 Review: RIP Tesla Model Y!

THE FULLY ELECTRIC BYD SEALION 7 SUV IS HERE!! And Matt from CarSauce has travelled to China with BYD - Build Your Dreams - to check it out and review it for the FIRST TIME!

The BYD Sealion 07 is a huge new model for BYD, taking on the most popular EV in Australia - the Tesla Model Y - for the No.1 best selling electric SUV. It's going to be priced sharp, with great exterior looks, a good interior, a fast 0-100km/h (0-62mph) and driving dynamics. So today, Matt and Jacob from CarSauce are going to take you for a full, in-depth review and look at the BYD Sealion 7 before it lands in Australia at the end of 2024 or early 2025.

Australia customers are so lucky - there is neither 100% nor 40% tariff to prevent them chose EVs from Chinese OEMs - they are really good value and quality.

Hello Guys thanks for the review. Next time you are in a BYD try putting 3 fingers on the screen to change the temp and the fan speed. Also you can just use the voice command if you change the language in the menu to english. We have the dolphin and have found it to be a great car and a big step up from our old Toyota Corolla.

Have had a Seal Performance since April and it's been nothing but reliable and not a squeak or rattle in 15k kms. Will be ordering a Shark when it's released and a Sealion 7. BYD is onto something and it's great.

Sealion 7 has launched a right-hand-drive version in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, there is a big gap between the car's functional configuration and the version in China.
