2015 - 2020 Ford F150 Rear Door Speaker Install

Watch a full tutorial as a 2016 Ford F150 will have a new pair of Alpine coaxial speakers installed in the rear doors. We will be using the Alpine Type S-S65 6.5" coaxial speaker which is rated for 80w RMS each side of power output for better sound quality.

Note: This vehicle wasn't equipped with the Sony amplified system from the factory so we do not need to retrain a factory amplifier.

This video applies to Ford F-150 models for years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. This kit also can work for F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 models for years 2017, 2018, and 2019. This video also includes door panel removal, speaker wiring, and installation.

Today I tackle 6x5s in the rear doors on my 2015 XLT. I’m building up courage to change out the head unit since the factory one with SYNC is pretty much worthless to me. It seems from the video that the bracket for the speaker does, in fact, fit. Yet Amazon claims that it doesn't fit my 2017 F150. Not sure why that would be when you installed it without any issues😅

Crutchfield says those speakers don’t fit in the rear door of my 2018 F-150. They say the top mounting depth is larger than allowed. Do they rub on the factory grilles?

Need help! I changed all 5 speakers (including the center channel) but I do have the Sony factory amp. You mention training the amp? How does this work? My bass has certainly changed. Thanks in advance

Just curious...I was shopping for speakers for my 2017 XLT SuperCab and saw that the Alpine S-65's won't fit in the rear doors due to the speakers have a taller mounting height. Are the SuperCrew and SuperCab mounting heights different?

so can you put the speaker right into the door without the round bracket around it? the factory speaker did not have it so was curious, if its because the speaker wouldn't fit without it? thanks
