our northern ancestors often had swords that did not have symmetrical points but points that angled to one side like a hunting knife and if u look the angular tip is there. it will be beautiful to see after restoration. thank yew skjalden. take care gare

I read this story a little while ago and though it's an excellent find my first thought was they should not have told anyone due to the destruction of other items that have gone on. I must say, that young girl had the perfect name for this find! I see this event as a sign as I truly believe our ancestors are rising in more ways than one.

That's absolutely horrible and disheartening to hear that some historical artifacts were turned into scrap metal. How could that happen? Was anyone held accountable? I hope something like that doesn't become routine. I'd hate to see anymore artifacts of Scandinavian history be destroyed.

Surely a very interesting piece of Swedish history . Books and TV programs report that many of these ancient artifacts found in watery places have been damaged or somehow mutilated, speculatively giving them a "ritualistic" or spiritual purpose. But what little we see of this sword found by the young girl, it appears to be intact? I think that in most countries ancient objects of historical and cultural value belong to the State. But this girl certainly deserves a reward for her wonderful dicovery.
