I simply use Google Docs for my notes. Although I don't divide my page into sections, my method is similar to the Cornell method. For my method, I write my notes as usual: mostly outlining, but sometimes paragraphs. Then, for my cue section, I use the comments function. I can highlight passages or points within my notes, summarizing or asking questions. I can then use my commented summaries or questions on my notes to create flashcards.

I remember my classes grade 4-graduation getting graded our ability to take our notes in this style. Our grades would be impacted on our ability to stick to this structure rather than actually retaining the information. For me personally, it was messy, difficult to understand and didn’t help at all. We had to turn in our note books to be graded on them, and that was when I just gave up and went back to what worked for me.

Your not necessarily “forced “u have the option to tweek it . U can always summarize in different ways off the top of your head or written and also go back and make other connections .

I find the final sentence here odd—I thought much of the point of Cornell notes was to do the note-taking in class and then write the questions & summary that evening, to interrupt Ebbinghaus’ forgetting curve.
