Opel had the best gearboxes ever for working on doing clutches was so easy the ones before this vid had just a shaft to pull out and you put clamp springs on pressure plate and drop it out without taking gearbox out those were the days

My dad had a 2013 hilux who made 500.000km. He had to change the (manual) transmission because it was really noisey and at the end the first and 3rd gear just wouldn't go in... He ended up buying a junkyard 30.000km one and sold it. I must say i loved that pickup and it worked really nice

Look at the colour of the oil...thanks to the manufacturer that did not even put a bloody drain plug on the diff pan cover
You reminded me when i took my car to the mechanic to replace gearbox oil and from that point car started to have a minor leak from diff pan gasket that will never stop...i tried different method and genuine gm gaskets, genuine expensive cover and no matter what torque gasket will start to get wet after a while...not a big leak...gust wet gasket and a few drops of oil...never used any rtv sealant tough as manufacturer does not suggest it as far as i know
Anyway since i drained gearbox oil different times to fix the issue i could tell that every time gearbox oil was replaced colour was clearer than before and gear change smoother and smoother....so to make it short ...if gearbox oil was never replaced in your car say at 120.000km like mine...i would suggest to replace gearbox oil 3, 4 times every 1000 to 5000km...and you will be impressed at how clean and smooth your gearbox will become!😅😅😅

Такой вал ещё можно восстановить, но только напылением до 20 мм., а потом подыскать втулку {лучше заводскую} под внутренний диаметр подшипника. Я такую кпп восстановил. Ездиет как с завода. 😊

new manual transmissions are BS, mine had plastic synchro gears and there was no way to replace the fluid, also 1st was 0-15 2nd topped out at 60mph and 3rd 110mph, its a 6 speed trans in a jeep why is it geared for 300mph

Проблемное место КПП данной модели (F17) - подшипник вторичного вала, который идёт без внутренней обоймы. Ролики подшипника бегают прям по шейке вала, из за чего металл выкрашивается.
Но я своём Opel я решил эту проблему модернизировав и усилив проблемный узел, после проехал ещё 70 тыс.км и так и продал.
