Verizon Motorola Droid X2 Review

The Droid X was a great device. Arguably one the Android devices on Verizon. Like clock work Motorola and Verizon have released a successor to make your old Droid X feel dated. The Motorola DROID X2 is ready to do just that and more. It is back with a vengence to be a cornerstone in the "Droid" lineup.

Motorola and Apple have already proven that sometimes it is ok to recycle handset designs. However, the under the hood upgrades on the DROID X2 definitely bring an X factor to the lineup. Priced at $199.99 with a 2-year contract, its priced reasonably next to the Droid Incredible 2 and cheaper than the 4G LTE devices available. Wondering why I believe this to be Verizon's best non 4G Phone? Check out the review.

You are the first reviewer that didn't do the boring quadrant standard test. I could care less about quadrant standards. There are a lot of phones that don't'(stack up) against phones that have a lower benchmark but perform outstanding, and the Droid 2x is such a phone.

@1samusc That's a good question mate. I'm playing with the incredible 2 as we speak and I love it also. If you don't need a front facing camera, I would go for the droid x. The high resolution screen and dual core will keep you happy for a while.

@gregfrazee Ok, one of two things has occurred: Either you have encountered a horrific pattern of bad-luck, OR, you are not maintaining memory, updates, and programs properly. Yes, having to clear caches, uninstall unused programs, update, and backup regularly can be an inconvenience, BUT, these devices are essentially mini-computers and require a little TLC to function at a high level constantly.

The Google operating system for the Droid X & the Droid X2 suxs!!! I started out with the Droid X in Aug 2010. I'm now on my 6th replacment and have just ordered my 7th (3 Droid X & 4 Droid X2). These phones run slow and often lock up to the point that you can't make calls or use any applications. I run the typical apps like email, facebook & twitter. Save your money folks.

The only thing I don't like about the phone is, it doesn't have covers over the usb and hdmi ports. My friend has one and lint from his shirt pocket gets inside the ports and at times it does make connection when cord in plugged in. He has to at times to blow out the debris from the ports.

@Truleepeachy24 The Droid X2 is not compatible yet. When it gets the gingerbread update it should be. I don't know when this will happen.
