02:58 That has got to be one of the most powerful answers to any question I think I've heard all year! My thanks to you both (Camera man/lady included) for being able to capture it

2:51 "I thought" Such a tinge of sadness to that answer.
Came for the camera review, left with existential questions...

I love my 5d classic. It’s the camera that I take everywhere. Rugged, great images, and simple.

I just bought the Canon 5d off eBay for $270. So far I've done two shoots with them. One Wedding (which I hate doing, and was a huge risk and wouldn't recommend) and one photoshoot for models. After using it, I sold my other camera. The 5d is a photographers camera. It doesn't do anything except photos. It doesn't have insane autofocus that can track subjects sprinting across the frame. But what it does, it takes pictures, and it does it as well as or better than any of the current Sony, Canon, Nikon's out there. I would never recommend the 5d as a first camera. You'll get frustrated from missing shots, and having to work hard to create decent low light shots and a bunch of other things. But if you've been using an APS-C and want to upgrade. And you know your way around a camera, you know how to shoot in Manual. Then this is one of the best camera's you'll ever own. It's as good as anything minus the bells and whistles.

If you are a headshot photographer. The 5d is the best option. I cannot recommend it enough.

It is true. I have a 5D I and a 5DII, the grain of the 5D I is Awesome! Looks like Film.

I bought a 2nd hand 5D a couple of years ago and the image attributes were just so special, even though the image quality, technically speaking, was similar to my 60D. Unfortunately I began to notice some slight faults in the sensor that was likely caused by dust. Those faults could not be rectified without a sensor replacement that was going to cost around AUD800 so the camera is sitting in a cupboard waiting for the day that a sensor refit will be cost effective. For me, the big issue with buying a 5D is the lack of a sensor cleaning mechanism that the future 5D models had. I'd recommend that anyone buying one should consider making it a one lens setup or making lens changes in only the cleanest of environments.

Even after processing to match both files, the 5D classic retains that filmic look. Amazing camera

Proves that many of us are wasting our money chasing the newest gear. Many of us should stick with our gear much longer than we do. The Canon 5D and Nikon D700 demonstrate that digital cameras can last a long time.

My uncle gave me his 5D Classic, and it’s my first full frame! The fact that it’s almost as old as I am is so cool to me (I’m from 2003). I absolutely love the pictures I take with it, and definitely gonna be using for a long time🤍

At 2:41 to 3:00 your conversation with that homeless man... That was ridiculously moving and I can’t get it out of my head. This is one of those things about taking portraits of strangers that has always left me entranced; the conversations you can have are limitless. I had a similar conversation with a a homeless man I met in San Francisco. I’ll never forget it.

thank you for actually telling us what settings you were using...so many photographers make videos about comparisons but don't let us know what they shot in to give the rest of us an idea of the individual settings. great video btw...!

Great video Pablo. I sold all my DSLR gear and bought X100F and than Ricoh GR II - I never thought that it will be so much liberating. I can't use heavy DSLR for street photography anymore. But I absolutely agree, there is some magic in old 5D, really lovely camera.

Well done Pablo...Thanks for reminding us to quit obsessing over gear and just have fun and go out and get the shot...And to “stop thinking” and be happy! Cheers from Florida!

The skin tones with the Mk1 seemed more natural . The MkIV appeared to have a reddish/orange cast ( to my 67 Y.O. eyes anyway lol ).

Well, in low light, you would have seen quite a big difference. I still love my 5D mk1 though...

~ I've had the Canon 10D, the 40D, the 5D Mk2, the 5D Mk3 and now I own the 5D Mk4. The Mk4 blows all my other cameras away with the brilliant resolution and the latitude of the sensor .. I can push that sensor to crazy limits completely impossible with all the others .. I love my 5D Mk4 .. PS: I shoot musicians for music magazines, so low light capabilities is everything for me .. ;-)
