If he’s able to do both jobs adequately, I don’t see a problem here.

The only problem is his initial paranoia, I have never heard a Lawyer, Plumber, Electrician, Realtor and Attorneys being tied to one client. When I go to buy house should I require my realtor to only work with me?

Both employers may benefit from this arrangement because his wages don't need to be raised to keep him on staff. As long as the companies are not competing with each other, it is a long term win for both companies. They decrease labor cost by sharing this skilled employee. It is actually a loss in the long run for the employee because he must exchange more of his finite resource (time) for less money per hour than he could get working one job.

Working 2 full time jobs at separate times, people like because you’re considered suffering and struggling daily. Find an easier way to do things (work 2 home jobs at the same time) people consider it unethical and shady. Once people find out, the haters come out with the crab mentality and start telling. Some companies get over on people all the time.

It all depends on the companies you're working for. I used to work in a highly regulated (banking) company that required us to disclose all outside income/business activities due to conflicts of interest. They had to know who we were working with outside the company to protect themselves. Many companies have non-compete agreements in place, so you have to be careful that you're not working for a competitor at the same time, in which case you'd be in breach of contract and possibly lose both jobs. Some companies though, particularly tech companies, allow and almost expect employees to have other avenues of income. As long as it's not a breach of your employment contract, and getting your work done, there's really no reason not to.

companies typically don't really care about you. I think this dude is smart and most people work in a " right to work state" this isn't cheating this isn't illegal. just make sure it doesn't affect your nda if you have one and if you don't well then who cares.. dude is smart.

Moving meetings to fit his 'other' schedule??? Amazing!!! I witnessed a situation at a large corporate job I had where a guy was hired who lived in Colorado and he took the job that was in California. He had a cubicle in Office A. I worked in Office B (200 miles away from Office A). So I would talk to this guy thinking he was in his cubicle in Office A. Occasionally, I would have to travel to Office A and I would always stop by this guy's cubicle to say hello in person. He was never there. About 6 months later, I heard that the guy was fired because he never moved from Colorado to California. He was working remotely from Colorado and had no intention of moving to California. It was the strangest thing I had ever seen personnel-wise. I was surprised he was able to hide it for so long. If I had been in charge, I would have fired him too. Honesty and integrity are important and I wouldn't want an employee that was living a lie. You just can't trust them. But the guy in the video didn't lie so much as he was checking out his options and it accidently worked out for him. Everyone knew about his situation and were willing to work it out. More power to him.

It is too expensive to just have one full time job, especially with no overtime. Rent, gas, food, electricity, and water are all up. You have to survive. Your boss will fire you the second you look a him/her wrong. Protect yourself with multiple forms of income because your boss doesn’t care if you die in a ditch.

Was his productivity suffering in either position? Was he meeting performance expectations? Working from home is a new frontier, why can’t we work for two businesses if they aren’t competitors and we are getting it done?

Know a guy who did this whilst employed w/ the state. He couldn't sustain the load ~began to screw up & have his mistakes spill over onto coworkers, sparking resentment. When he was found out~he was canned the same day.

This happened to me- 12 years ago!! I was a struggling single mom- did both jobs excellent and messed up on a call being overheard selling - thought I was on speaker and I got caught. They fired me immediately and I kept the other job because they didn’t care - it was mostly commission…don’t regret it and id do it again…I don’t think it’s anyones business if you have two/ three jobs and are doing it just fine! Makes zero sense - many fireman have businesses- many people work retail part time jobs and evening jobs…it’s wrong to limit what a person can do- especially a woman where we don’t get paid as much as the men- or didn’t years ago

What's interesting about this video is how Ken doesn't call out CEOs that are working other jobs and positions, such as board of director seats and key stake holders in other companies.

I work 2 jobs but I work my second job once I clock out of my first job.

I consider a full time job to be 8 hours, so to work two full time jobs means 80 hours a week. If you say 6 hours a day, that's still 12x5 which is 60 hours a week. So you're working evenings and weekends to get your 60-80 hours per week in to satisfy the your obligations to two companies.

If you're young, have few life obligations (no wife or kids) and can pull that off consistently, that's great. Personally, I prefer one full time job and a few good clients that I'm not required to book that many hours a week for.

One of the challenges in the fast food industry is scheduling. Managers will deliberately give people unpredictable schedules so they can't take on additional work for other companies.

We shouldn't just be kind to people who are highly skilled. because they have leverage. The Bible is very clear about how employers are to treat employees and it looks nothing like modern capitalism. If you can't pay your workers properly, you owe them a schedule they can fit other employers into.

I see 0 problem with this. I have worked more than 1 job at a time before. Sometimes they overlapped. If you are doing a good job wth is the problem, ?
