I was raised "Baptist" and left to do my own thing as a young teenager. I was invited to a Pentecostal church and was filled with the Holy Ghost (spoke in tongues) at the age of 19. I had gone far into the world of being a rock / country musician and pot head (smoked marijuana habitually). I encountered the born again experience that Jesus spoke of in John 3 (Except a man is born again of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God). and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2 38, Acts 8 :16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:1-5) My life was changed over night! I had smoked Winston cigarettes and marijuana, drank beer and wine, partied and lived the "Hippy" life as much as I could. But, being born again of the water (baptized in Jesus name, and filled with the Holy Ghost) totally changed my life. I have never smoked another joint or cigarette, drank a beer or glass of wine. I stopped playing music in bars and started playing in church. I see all of this anti-God and Pentecost stuff on here and say, you don't have to do anything against your will... but living for God is the best thing that ever happened to me! Talk all of your non scriptural "hermanutics and theologies, and exogesis' that you want, you cannot take from me or millions of others, this life changing radical experience and life of the Holy Ghost and fire! You can do all of your twisted explaining that you want, but God has the last Word.. heaven and earth will pass away, but let the Word of God stand true forever. Let God be true and every man a liar.

This guy is lost . X pastor of a Pentecostal Church and he now says they are wrong and got a devil sprit, had some kind of funny name for it .i have witnessed a lot of good things in my church n getting baptized n filled with the Holy Ghost like acts chapter 2:38 . I believe in some way I have a gift of tongues I speak 3 languages. And my daughter 5 we have to put it for the Glory and honor of God. To preach the gospel. In Italy with The italian you can speak to Polish, Romenians, Hindu, Americans, Italians as well, Croatians, Greeks, french, africans, etc, etc. This is the gift of tongues. To speak what you can understand.

This preacher was trinitarian for long time. Years not understanding Acts 2:38 preaching with his sins not forgiven.You MUST be baptized ln the Name of Jesus for the Remision of your sins .That's the first step. No matter how much Greek, , Hebrew, Latin and other languages

There is a real gift of speaking in tongues. There are also counterfeits & they do sound fake/jibberish. The real thing may well be a real language unknown to some of the hearers.

Sorry my friend, explain jhn3:8 with the Greek it says you will hear a sound the word sound in Greek means language it comes from the greek word phonay where we get the word phonics so everyone that is born of the spirit you will hear a sound, just like in the flesh when we are born in this world the doctors look to hear the baby crying that tells them the baby is alive, God does everything for a reason so we can understand simply because the devil your adversary comes as a ROARING LION speaking in jhn3:8 it speaks about wind and sound of everybody recieving the spirit just as the same in Acts 2:2 KJVS
And suddenly there came a SOUND from heaven as of a RUSHING MIGHTY WIND, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

John the Baptist said, one is coming who I'm not worthy to untie His shoes, He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. You seem to take scripture and throw it away cause you haven't received it yet. Well, the scripture never comes back void. Speaking in tongues (Foreign languages for preaching to crowds of mixed nationalities)

 

 

Speaking in unknown tongue is useless to others, and only edifies the speaker  – 1 Cor 14:1-4

 

Prophecy is greater than speaking in tongues, unless tongues are used to translate for the entire church - 1 Cor. 14:5

 

Speaking in tongues should never be ridiculed - 1 Corinthians 14:39

 

Etiquette for speaking in tongues - 1 Corinthians 14:26-33, 1 Corinthians 14:39-40

 

Even in other tongues (languages) will the truth be taught - Isaiah 28:11

Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritan. Our salvation has to match-up with the scriptures and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away. Eternity is TOOO long to be WRONG! st John 5:39, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us. The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38. The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church. It's better to walk alone than to walk with a crowd going in the wrong direction. Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, They continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone.
