Killdozer | Marvin Heemeyer’s Armored Bulldozer

When life gives you lemons, make life take those lemons back by building a 60-ton armored bulldozer and attacking your neighbor’s cement plant. This plan might sound peculiar, but it has already been tried and tested by a certain Marvin Heemeyer. Regarded as a folk hero by some and as a domestic terrorist by others, one thing about Heemeyer remains certain - his impressive engineering skills. He meticulously crafted what can best be described as a homemade tank within the confines of his metal shed before unleashing it on the town of Granby, seeking retribution against all those who he perceived had wronged him.

As a kid I watched him. As a man I understood him. RIP Marvin

Before Marvin Heemeyer moved to Granby, he had an automotive repair shop in Boulder. A friend who went to UC-Boulder knew him. My friend said he was one of the nicest people ever. He said Heemeyer was always helping students fix their cars; giving them advice and used parts and charging them very little when he fixed student's cars.

Perfect exempel of small town USA politics. If you are not part of the town elite, you don't matter. Marv you are a hero to me, no matter what anyone says. RIP .

This dude died over a decade ago fighting against his town's treatment of him, and yet his creation has still remained discussed in 2023

Heemeyer might've died but he had the last laugh knowing that now the town's reputation will forever be "town that drove a guy so mad he decided to build a tank and raze it to the ground"

They drove him to it... cut off access to his business, the town´s power players thought they could just keep smacking him down. So he bit back. I have a lot of sympathy for the man.

You forgot the part where people from the city council were financially invested in the concrete plant and ignored Marvin so that they could make money.

Marvin is a legend. What that city did to him was outrageous. I don't feel bad for anyone who's property was damaged by his killdozer.

I think "Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things." is a perfectly accurate way of describing this event.

Absolutely no sympathy for the town -- They destroyed him, then laughed at him when he complained. And the best vengeance, is that the survivors will wake up every day, until the day of their end, and think of Martin Heemeyer...and remember that they are the ones who did it to him.

Marvin Heemeyer finished the dream of Bob Semple, and showed the final product and its effectiveness.

What a legend. I wish more people had the means and opportunity to stand up to injustice.

Eventually when the people are squeezed too tightly, when food, housing, and basic living expenses are unaffordable to people who work hard to support their families. When people have nothing left to lose. Then we'll all be Marvin Heemeyer and we'll show them what unreasonable is.

Wow, this citizen is a legend. Marvin stood up to corrupt government. He is a martyr to freedom.

Marvin was inspired by some tanks from World War II. But these video cameras and monitors in Kingdozer... Marvin was a genius! On June 4, 2004, the world lost a great man.
The Thompsons stole 500 thousand dollars from him - he took a debt from them. Dick Thompson and his son Ron had died by that time, but Larry and Gary are alive and continue to commit crimes against people. Marvin rightly took some of their property.
If the issue isn’t resolved in a corrupt court, the man must protect himself and his property. Great hero. A brave and fearless man. He was a very kind man. There is a wonderful phrase: “they were lucky that he was a saint.”

He was pushed to the limit by corrupt politicians. Something everyone has to deal in some form or another.

Imagine destroying a man's life, then having the gall to be shocked when he decides to retaliate

Man, if only I could go back in time and tell him to make sure the engine had more ventilation for proper cooling
