Jesus I hate it when people bring up this story because 100% of the time they have no idea what led up to it. Heemeyer was asked by the Docheffs to sell the property, to which he asked for 250k. Then heemeyer went back and said "hey I got my property reappraised and I want another 125k. The Docheffs then got 350k and then Meeyer was like "I got appraised again, now I want 450k." They ended up buying the lot next to his. Then Heemeyer wanted to do a land swap, to which then Docheffs agreed but Heeme6er then demanded they build a new building for them and they refused. He had it out for the Docheffs, who tried to work with him, but he kept kicking them around. The courts found his claims. The Docheffs even offered to grant him sewer access if he dropped his court case against them, and he refused that. Heemeyer then tried to illegally connecting his sewage line to his neighbor and was caught. Keep in mind, Heemeyer knew he had to have his property connected to either the sewer system or have a septic tank, but he refused both, saying the city must pay for it. After 10 years he was found in contempt of this. Then this dumbass proceeds to play victim, when really he was a victim of his own idiocy.

Another thing to keep in mind, he didn't just go after those who "came after him", he tried to go after everyone regardless of their involvement. He tried shooting at propane storage tanks that could have had catastrophically exploded and causing high casualties.

Just stop promoting this dumbass terrorist like some kind of folk hero, as he himself is the source of most, if not all of his problems.

I suggest you read up on what happen before hand. There has been alot of Mythos about this but little of it is based in reality. They guy was off his rocker a bit, he was offered the price he originally wanted for his land, then he raised the price and was pissed they wouldnt meet that.
