Actually they upgrade their loyal customers and give people like you their own seat. There is also the risk of gate closure. Or you’ll end up sitting at the tail end near the toilet. This happened to a smart Alec friend .

It happened with me once. I was travelling to srinagar from Delhi with my family. They said they have full booking so they gave 1 of the seat in business class to us. And i took that opportunity.

Not possible because nowadays they make it mandatory to web check in 24 hrs earlier so they have a accurate number of the check ins

yaa this was happened with me around 1 month ago actually i booked my ticket in wl normal coach but due to less cancellations i was given my seats in 2nd ac coach😅😅

You give good ideas dear. I tried that trick of asking for something for free which you suggested. I and my girlfriend went to unlimited pizza restaurant. They were offering only one drink per person. We took it. Then almost after completing 70% of our meal, we asked for another drink. They said its additionally chargeable. We said umm.. okay. Please give us. But then in the bill they didn't add it! Maybe because we were behaving too nicely to the staff. I don'tt mnow. But we got a free drink that day.

For flight, I won't take this risk, TBH.

It's actually cool even if the plane is full and you have to go to the next flight due to high compensation. Not sure about India, but if I'm not wrong, it's around $1500 in USA
