For the people on here looking for a quick method to get caps the same as I was.. let me save you some time, this is a video explaining how to grind for hours on end to get you some caps. And his "AFK farming method" Is literally just keeping your shop open.
His tip on on fast traveling to White springs while over-encumbered is the best part about this video. It's a great how-to if you're new to the game.

If you have the Insurgent hat unlocked for crafting under headwear than you’re set for daily caps. Each craft is 1 cloth and you sell them for 25 caps each. It takes me about 40 crafts to get the 1400 daily limit.

Most mutants and aliens use energy weapons. Equip the ENERGY ABSORBSION” legendary card and most times when shot the damage actually heals you and recharges your fusion core. I rarely die during the alien event and end up reviving everyone.. that legendary card is AMAZING

Personally, the best way in my eyes is server hopping anything like eviction notice on its own. I can get almost 1000 cats, but you gotta be willing to server because every server has different events going on. You might have eviction notice in one and test your metal and another before you might not have no events going on at all, but I serve hop. I don’t usually play in teams so it doesn’t bother me but that’s how I get all my caps. I could have zero caps and then go to one puny little event and get like 600 just in a few minutes or if I’m doing eviction notice you’re getting all those legendary items that you can catch in first you can sell off stuff and I just gained a ton of caps in the process

Marine wetsuit helmet crafts for 1 cloth 1 rubber 1 steel and it sells for 30caps each using hard bargain and grape mentats.. do this daily..

The one that I think I haven’t really seen in the past couple of days or almost a week now is the scorch beast queen event what they do cut it ever since the skylines valley update some old events aren’t showing up no more are they trying to push the boss event down in skyline Valleythey’re already cutting another event there in skyline Valley and that’s the neurological event. A few people have already mentioned this so far.

I tried to teleport per virtibird - but everytime i try - it just INSTANTLY spawns me in the place
