How to Cut Wood Molding at Odd Angles for a Perfect Fit!

Whether it be quarter round or baseboards, fitting a 90 deg. corner for wood molding is usually pretty strait forward, but what about a 135 deg. inside corner, or maybe 147 deg. outside corner?
In this video we show you how to use a woodworking protractor and a digital angle finder to measure for a perfect fit. We also discuss the logic and simple math involved in this process, since not all angle finding tools may do the math for you.

I LOVE YOU! 3:30 SHOWS THE CALCULATION NEEDED! ALL YOU NEED IS A DIGITAL ANGLE FINDER. FIND THE ANGLE, SUBTRACT FROM 180 DIVID THE ANSWER BY 2 AND CUT TWICE AT THAT ANGEL IN BOTH DIRECTIONS ON THE MITRE SAW! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Thank you! I have been stressing about this one angle i have to cut quarter round for. It's two sloped walls that come together in my hallway. You have eased my mind. I will be trying this tomorrow.

Oh my gosh, thank you on how to do it with and without the protractor! 💜 I'm on our wooden boat today, trying to put my trim up. (I put all the headliner in, but some of the trim is missing.)

I'm putting some molding around a triangle which has one 90 degree angle and two 45 degree angles. I thought for sure that if I cut the two pieces at 22.5 degrees that I'd get my 45 nope.... I got a way wider angle than a 90 degree. With your formula it looks like I have to cut two pieces at 67.5 degrees, but my miter saw doesn't cut that sharp an angle. Help !
