as I hope someone already posted... the height difference in the sides of the box is NOT to give you a "downhill cut" - It is to allow the long end to catch over near side of workbench so as you push on the saw, the box will be steadier and more solid.

Got one of these years ago and works as described, recommended for small pieces of wood and don't forget using small clamps.

He doesn't know how to use it. The longer bottom is used to hang over an edge so it DOESNT MOVE. Also, the saw blade is called a backsaw because of the support on its back. Ace or he should have known the name.

Hi please help me.
My miter box looks 45d angles is super deep and it is only good if im going to make a picture frame but not good for cutting chair rail moulding or baseboard?
It is possible that I purchased the wrong box? Are they different kind of plastic miter box

How do you hold the workpiece in the mitre block? If it moves even a little my joint is ruined

Just bought one of these today from ace. The top of the saw will not go through the grooves, causing the saw to not cut through the trim all the way. Sucks I spent $20 then had to modify it for the top of the blade to go through the slots.

this kind of cut would not work for a baseboard trim. you'd have to set the trim/wood on end and cut downward to get to get 2 45's to meet in a corner.
