Here in the UK, the long-running BBC science show ‘Tomorrow’s World’ was notorious for its live technology failures. Almost every week you would hear a presenter say “I can assure you it worked perfectly well in rehearsal!”

5:20 Shatterproof windows are already a bad idea. What if you're in an accident and they need to break the window to get you out or if you wreck the car in water and can't put the window down? Sure rescue people could have tools to handle it but often it's just a random person that saves you.

I remember when they revealed the video game console the Ouya. it was presented not a fancy case or display but in a brown paper bag like somebody’s lunch. I don’t even remember if they had any games highlighted when it was announced?

Back in the early 1960s, they used to have a live commercial where a Timex watch was placed in a fish tank with a speed boat motor

The theme, "Timex takes a licking and keeps on ticking."

The motor ripped the watch to shreads, and they could not find the watch except for pieces of it.
