When this treatment is required:

When the pulp in the interior of your teeth becomes infected and damaged, bacteria can spread from that infection to your gums and jawbone. Without treatment, the tooth will die. That’s why root canal treatment is advised to remove the infected pulp tissue from within the tooth.

Video Description:

Step-1- In this surgical procedure, at first an opening is made through the crown of the tooth to gain access to the pulp chamber and remove the infected enamel dentin and some part of the pulp tissue with various instruments

Step-2- After that, each tiny canal inside the root canal system must be identified and cleaned out of its infected tissues using small tapered instruments called files

Step-3- Then, the canals are further prepared using files that open up the canals to a precise taper and length

Step-4- Once the chamber is thoroughly cleaned and dried, your endodontist will fit it with a rubber-like material

Step-5- Now, to add structural stability to the tooth, the canal spaces are further prepared to allow for the placement of posts in the tooth

Step-6- After that, the posts are now placed in the prepared space

Step-7- a dense filling material is injected into the tooth cavity

Step-8- Now finally a special light is applied to harden the material

Step-9- your dentist will advise you for the crown to protect the tooth for future damage

Step-10- That’s why, the tooth must be reshaped before placing the crown

Step-11-Finally, the crown is installed onto the rebuilt tooth

Hey Guys. For those who are wondering if the procedure is really painful and is anxious to go get yours done.Dont worry.It is completely painless.You won’t even feel a little pain as you are under local anasthesia and the whole damaged tooth and the surrounding gums would be numb.You would feel a little pain when the doc would inject inside the tooth. But you won’t feel anything after all. Don’t be scared you won’t feel anything. But it totally depends on the doctor who is doing the procedure. So make sure to go and consult an experienced endodontist on doing this procedure.

I may have to have one of these done cuz one of my teeth has a infection after a filling & that what was causing pain in my gums & my right ear & this was the first time this has happened to me & if my pain doesn't go away my infected tooth would have to be removed

Only pain is the anaesthesia scratch 😣 and no pain afterwards . Just close your eyes, don’t look at the tools. I was so scared and was shivering through the process without any reason 😣

Those posts are a bit large and could possibly fracture the tooth, during chewing We place a considerable amount of force on the molars over time this can wear on the tooth an cause small splits and or micro fractures. Also if your a grinder this only adds to the possibility of a fracture.

Yah i had 8/10 pain during this procedure. Definitely made me start brushing better. Basically out of body experience in the dentist chair. Never felt anything half as bad in my life. Dentist numbed my mouth 4 separate times and it still hurt. I guess my nerves are screwed up or something. Finally she brought in another dentist who numbed it some more (basically did nothing) and then he drilled that sht out. it hurt so bad. Next time i'm just gonna have them pull the tooth.
