I interpreted the scene of Elisabeth staring in disgust at the shrimp plate as her coming to realize *that* is exactly what she was in his eyes: a piece of meat to be chewed up and spat out, while he mindlessly and greedily reaches for another one, and then another, and then another. I think the way Sue started taking more and more from Elisabeth mirrors this in such a sad way, like she internalized the way the industry treated her to the point that it was the only way she could treat herself.

There was so much going on in this movie, not just what the obvious message was. It deserves a serious analysis on almost all levels of the film. It's nice to see that well written and directed idea pieces can still get made. Also, the only the horror movie that's ever made me cry. If you're wondering, it was the bit when she was going to kill her other self but stops and says "but she's the only part of me people love", sad for two reasons. One: the Hollywood world treats her as such and also that it had convinced her they were right.
