This guy is hands down the most useful man on YouTube. First of all, he doesn't tell you the problem without explaining it and giving a solution. Second of all, he gives you sources, links to tutorials and methods to fix the problem. Third of all, his videos are detailed. Keep up the good work!

Most of the channels just says "links in the descripton" and when you look at description you see just "like and share my video" but you add links to descripton. I liked that bro. Keep going.

I love how you make all these problems seem do-able on your own while most people just say "get the part and install it, boom its fixed" rather than actually giving advice for me to do it

Problems 1 through 10: the RX8 itself. Problem 11 which is the most important of them all: the "driver". The "driver" is the no.1 reason these cars have such a bad rep. I say "driver", when in reality you're both the mechanic and the technician and the electrician and the chemist and the detailer for this horribly wonderful machine that you will hate to love

The rx8 I got for $3, 500 is still running strong 7 months later and I premix 1 oz per gallon I also left it idling for 8 (I feel asleep one night during warm up) hours and she's still happy.

I owned a 2005 rx8 6 speed manual. I loved that car, for the 2 years I had it. Not many chicks can drive 6 speeds. I could, and owned it proudly. I now have 350z convertible. It's automatic, but still a blast to drive.

I would never recommend raving to 9k+ regularly. Reving to 3k for 3seconds before shutdown solved this issue prevents flooding issues. I make a point to hit 6k every time I drive and never get carbon buildup. I never once ran into any of the listed issues or any of the most popular ones. Knowing how to maintain your car through basic practices, these things (series II anyways) run forever.

Thanks for the great video!
I own a 2011 6-speed RX-8 and love it. I also owned a 2004.
It's awesome to have been one of the first 100 people in The US to own the RX-8, and now I own the very last year they were made. The difference between series one and series two is vast, but regardless, it's a wonderful car!

Owned an RX-8 for 2 years. Loved every minute of driving it despite the problems.

I then had 7 months of riding a 125cc Yamaha MT-125, until I crashed.

A month later I decided to sell the bike, then I called a local dealership asking if they had a GT86 in, they shot me down on the spot, then invited me to come down as they had something better to offer.

I arrived at the dealership and I was introduced to a Laguna blue Facelift AP1 2007 S2000, they took me out and let me drive her. From the moment the car started and the low growl pouring out of the Skunk2 Megapower exhaust until parking her outside my house tonight and tomorrow and beyond, I will forever be in love with this car.

Note, I test drove a GT86 a few months ago and I was very disappointed and happy at the same time, because I got introduced to the S2k first.

Missed a couple of big ones:

Faulty igntion coils is what usually kills the catalyst - followed by the engine. They're easy to fix. Or get a D585 kit. An ignition remap with the 585's will make the engine happy.

Also. Sill rust. Kills a lot of cars in Ireland. Mine has it where the sills get pebbledashed by the splash from the front wheels.

And the factory spec oil is too thin. Most 8's in the UK and Ireland seem to die from failed bearings rather than seals.

I appreciate your knowledge of this car, I had an 04 right when they came out. I remember frequent trips for the "reflashes", only put 30k on it but zero problems. I always tell people, "100hp shy of perfection" loved the feel of the chassis, just got sick of Camrys pullin me 🤔

Clean video! I avoided most of those problems just because I boosted my 8, so I had to replace almost all of those things to balance out everything. Fuel pump, injectors, intake, race pipe vice CAT, visors happened in mine and my brothers 8 lol. The tail lights happened once when going through a drive though car wash...never again will i do that. Arm rest...lol i just don't lean on it, or let anyone else. I love that car, but its major problem is the drivers for the most part. Keep up the good work mate.

I remember a (relatively) hot day in Las Vegas when my visor hinge completely melted to liquid. Dealership replaced those, but for the condensation/water in taillights, I simply drilled a small, barely perceptible hole in the lower portion of each covering and it did the trick (drained and allowed airflow to defog).

I got my RX8 brand new in 2009. Just had my first issue with the Sun visor breaking. Has been a great, problem free car.
