I just love how Vista looks, that mix of black and teal green hues just made it have even more character. Windows 7 just turned everything to white, and while it's not that bad looking, it's definitely inferior in my opinion.

I always just assumed that Windows Vista and 7 looked almost the same so this video is really interesting as you can see big amount of subtle UI changes. Windows 7 was really like refined Vista, also in terms of looks. Vista looked very modern for its time, but it was also a bit too serious and visually dark and heavy. 7 felt like much lighter and fresher version :).

i like how windows 7 kept the same feel of vista but improved the os it self so it runs better anyways nice video:D

Start menu - Vista (but close call, i love the power button instead of "text")
Taskbar - 7, more intuitive
Control panel - Vista (more colorful side panel)
Windows explorer - Vista FTW most beautiful windows explorer
Paint - 7
Windows media player - Vista WMP 11 FTW (more aero glass)
Hibernation screen - 7
Shutdown - TIE

The taskbar is a major improvement in Windows 7 adding the ability to pin apps to the taskbar with a right click menu. I t also became transparent

In Windows 10 and 11 they replaced the beautiful startup and shutdown screens by ugly flat colors screens.

This WinPE setup wallpaper is from RTM. The WinPE setup wallpaper used in Windows Vista Build 6001 and 6002 (SP1 and SP2) has a different wallpaper. The one that we have on OOBE.

I like the way Vista looks compared to Windows 7, but the support for everything on Vista ended quite a while ago while Win.7 still runs most things(older versions at least) so i'd think it would be difficult to use now. :(
