I swear to god they ruined heavy weapons for this game. It seems like every enemy has a recover timer just barely faster than heavy weapons so you can't get a roll; off after one hit.

I really disliked this boss, he's very difficult to read when you first encounter him. I usually circle so I can observe his attack patterns, but when you do so all he does is 1 attack. The trick here is to get close, as you stated, and just hope he doesn't do his bullshit unreadable "ranged sword" attacks because they will hit you from offscreen.

This fight’s pretty hard if you’re a strength build as the weapons are very slow. The best way to beat him is to just 2h charge attack him twice at the start, then dodge his first attack, do another charged attack and he usually staggers. Then you can just critical, charge another while he stands up and he has much less health for the remainder of the fight (if he’s not already dead)

Pretty fun that some encounters are night time only. Really had fun with the Nazgul in the bridge

This is the same exact enemy as another fight elsewhere, that I won't spoil. You can beat both in exactly the same manner: If you stand behind him on his right heel he will ALWAYS do a single shield slam with no explosion which you can dodge through ending up at his right heel and allowing for 4 hits with a fast dual wield, 2 hits with a medium speed weapon or 1h, and 1 hit with a heavy weapon. He will ALWAYS do this attack if you are on his back right heel. if you are on his back left he will do a 3 swing combo that is also easy to dodge, but less reliable so if you're not getting shield slam stand further to the right.

Interesting fact is have found out is if you go to any of the graces next to a merchant this guy will spawn and depending on the area his difficulty and move set get harder. I have been trying to kill the one in calid next to the isolated merchant but he’s really strong even for having a 9+ somber weapon. He will take off 1000 health off one attack sometimes.

Cheesiest way to beat it is using the scarlet rot item on your claws (wield dual hand), and start slashing it in 0:03 seconds (yes you can damage it before it becomes human form, tried posion but not enough damage). You'll get a major bleed effect and rot on it, then ride torrent and run off, hide in the nearest forest (you might encounter raining wolves or undead which are all friendly to enemies). It'll drop the boss health to 1 point, then sneak from the right door when it goes back to its original position grunting and charge attack it.

It has something like 5000 health but only 2700 runes. Drop something that allows you to buy animal That's all a Darth Vader wielding Guts blade can give.

the thing about this guy is that it’s almost like he punishes you every time you attack him, and you don’t have time to roll back or dodge so you almost always get punished

Why is this guy so difficult? Godrick was cake compared to him. All you get is to be able to buy the bones you get from killing wildlife. And they're not cheap either

I was having a tough time with him with my strength weapons. Fortunately my character had enough dex to use a rapier so I ended up poking him to death with that from behind my shield.

I really like his ability to be able to throw his sword however he wants to and however far he wants to and hit you multiple times he can normally 3 shot me with that in about a second

it took me several hours to beat this on lvl19. (i chose Wretch class and had trash equipment that i got from the knight camp near starting location)😭 i even cheated coz i used the horse. hahaha.

edit : for horse tactics, he's weak if you attack from the right side. don't lock on and try to bait an attack, if he glows red then move in for a strike, but if he doesn't glow then move out of melee range quickly and wait for him to finish his combo before going in for another strike. rinse and repeat.

Finally killed him at Warmasters Shack after 30 tries as a Vagabond (no level up yet). So, what did the trick for me? Halberd + Ash of War: Impaling Thrust + Flask of Wondrous Physick with Strength-knot Crystal Tear and Greenspill Crystal Tear. Take the halberd into two hands. Run into the shack and do a single rb attack and right after that impaling thrust for 3 times. That breaks his stance and you can do a counter attack to drop down his health to > 50% before he can do a single attack. After that lure him out of the shack stay close and do impaling thrust whenever there is a chance. That will break his stance again after to or three attacks. Still hard but that's, how i managed to do it finally.

It keeps one shot killing me with any attack with me using one of the best armor in the game and the potion . At level 170 I beat all the extra main bosses ... But this Bell guy makes Malenia and Raykar looks easy even without a summon. I need to do some more level farming I guess .

Easier to just hit a few times as a heavy weapon user at the begging then jump on horse back up let him do the ranged attack combo then ride in as hes recover run in for a heavy attack leave

I'm encountering him in Isolated Shack Merchant and his HP is Probably 8K and eating my 1k hp in One shot WTF. attacks are way more agrresive. this video has like 2-3k HP with not even 400 attack.

Pull him northeast you can spawn ashes

As a strength build it can be annoying cos your slow. I used dual dreatswords punish him with jump attacks for the stagger at the start when he hasnt fully spawned in yet, I always let him do three swipes then jump attack again repeating it over and over and I make sure i stay close as those attacks are easy to time.
