I wish they had longer lifespans. Such cute and environmentally important creatures.

Love Opossums. I had one shelter throughout the cold winter in my garage. She would come down off her high shelf to eat with my 2 cats. I also had an older Skunk with a limp spend the winter as well. If my mother and I did not see them, we would call them to dinner and they would come in. Such nice animals. So glad there is a rescue and rehabilitative place for these animals. Wonderful lady who shares her life with her darling boy.

I hate that people are misinformed when it comes to opossums. I think they're amazing little creatures. I'm teaching the kids in my neighborhood not to fear them but to respect them.

I had an opossum come to my door every night for about a month one winter. He came to eat the cat food I left for stray cats. I named him Opie. So, I was worried when he stopped showing up. Then, one day, he showed up once more at my door with four fuzzy little ones tagging along, all in a row. That's when I realized Opie wasn't an Opie at all. He was an Opal. They were just the sweetest family. I'm thankful and blessed that Opal shared her story with me that spring.

He may be old but he's had the best life a blind opossum could possibly hope for, I sincerely hope that brings some comfort when his time inevitably comes.

Holy moly - 75 babies!! I think Opossums are very misunderstood. They are sweet affectionate creatures.

Wonderful. Brings back indelible memories of the ones I cared for in Missouri decades ago. I was the outreach caregiver for a rehab that was prepared for birds but not opossums so I had the grand opportunity to raise three orphans to adulthood and they were the most precious little guests in my home. It wasn't necessary to cage them, had the free fun of the house and were tidy and always tended potty business in a designated place. They often climbed in bed with me and nestled giving me the occasional bath. So glad to see others both giving and enjoying the company of these humble little earth citizens who seem to catch the worst that humans can dole out through hate and misunderstanding.

Sad to hear their lives are so short. 😢 Much respect to all the people that care for the abandoned injured or senior animals no matter the species.

What this woman does for all of these special needs animals is amazing.❤ The opossums sound so cute when they're eating.💕 I didn't realise that their life-spans were so short but how wonderful of this woman to give them such a great quality of life.❤

I admit that for a period of time I was afraid of opossums. I would see them at night on my street and their eyes seemed to glow and they would startle me. But through reading articles and watching videos I have come to love them. Now I put out food for them and will watch them in my driveway at night. They are Precious BLESSINGS. Sadly their time on this planet is way too short. Thank You for rescuing Blackwell- and all the other precious Angels. I hope Blackwell is still with you and has many more good days to share with you.
