nice to hear this with sax and added female vocals. also the bass is very present in the mix, which is nice. I always liked Roger's bass lines.

Its songs like this that made me really appreciate the clarity of CD's & I had to rebuy my entire Floyd library! Tthis was played on the film "Live at Pompeii" in quadrophonic sound & is a must for any Floyd fan. I truly believe Pink Floyd will be listened to in centuries to come, much like Classical Music is today. Now won't that be cool?

Echoes and Shine On You Crazy Diamond are my top two favorites by Pink Floyd.
I cannot decide which is my top choice though.

It is just the (recording) volume. Everyone in the band shines in here. I love nick doing alot of stuff across the song; rick also shines in this version in the arising part, as well as gilmour. The dynamism in their notes reflects how he was focused and getting fun; doing his very best. I love them alot. How they start as in one of these days.
Just listen a track in low volume and the in high. You will notice and amazing phenomenon called relativity. Bunch of idiots.

This sounds like the same version as the live at Wembley ‘74 which would make sense as I think I read somewhere that the reason the concert sounds so good is that they were fully intending to broadcast it on the radio but idk I could be wrong 🤷‍♂️

I can't believe I'm saying this, as a bass player, but Roger is way too forward in the mix here. Still, any rendition of Echoes is always precious like gold dust. And 14:00-18:00 is pure transcendent beauty.
