Here's the thing:
This music is already 50 years old and still ahead of its time.

So good! The proper pitch is critical on this. Even the blu-ray version is off.
This is my favorite live piece of all time, all bands. I've watched Pompeii probably 72 times over the years... Since I got the VHS back in the early 80s.
Iconic doesn't begin to describe it.

In Britain there's a radio program called Desert Island Discs where the interviewees share 8 songs they'd take with them on a desert island (basically they are sharing 8 songs that have had meaning in their lives). I'd just play this one song. It captures so much and 30 minutes go by as if time didn't exist.

Pink Floyd played the very first COVID concert. The ghosts of Pompeii and Herculaneum were awestruck. What a performance.

at 12 min. 10. seconds in the bass break out is a truly monumental groove. Then what is for me the most psychedelic guitar line of all time. at 12 min. 36 sec through to whatever Chord he's playing at 12: 47. The menace in this all is brilliant, scary "ooh scary" great stuff. Thanks David, thanks all. What a treat.
