My leadership style is a combination of autocratic, transformational and delegative.

There are times as a leader when I must give clear instructions of what is required, especially when we have strict timescales to meet. During these times, I will be autocratic and authoritative.

Other times, when I want to coach and motivate my team to drive through change or complete new projects and tasks, I will be transformational.

And finally, I will use a delegative style of leadership almost every day in my work when I am distributing tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their strengths.

That’s how I’d answer this question.

Great question to think through for yourself as a leader in addition to making it through the interview process!
