what you have to do to get the symmetry tool to work on multiple layers, is select the layer you want it to work on and click on it so the little window with 'rename', 'select', etc. pops up. click 'drawing assist' and it'll have the symmetry effect as well!

You can use symmetry tool on diffetent layers actually! You just have to turn on drawing assist on that layer :)

For the symmetry tip, you just tap on the layer and activate drawing assist on that layer (from the same menu as clipping mask). It’s not always great for hair, but there are some symmetrical hairstyles. It depends on the characters style and personality. Great for times you’re feeling lazy af though

(Also helps to do a sketch first on the bottom layer before painting just as you would normally)

To do symmetry on another layer you have to use assisted drawing (you can enable it by tapping the layer you need)
