Hey guys! In today's video, I wanted to talk about how much nurse practitioner's make, and four factors which can help you determine how much you can make in your specific location and practice setting.

I don't think money should be your only factor in considering becoming a nurse practitioner, but it definitely is an important aspect to keep in mind! It can be challenging finding the right answers online. Hopefully this video can give you some clarity!

Stay tuned until the end when I talk about how much I make as a Nurse Practitioner in the inpatient setting in urban NJ.

Thank you for being transparent!!!! College is not free and students deserve to know how much realistically they can expect to make as a new grad. Great video.

Very important video so new grads don't accept the low ball offers that are currently offered (75-80k/year). I don't care where you live, NP's should be grossing 100k minimum given the liability that comes with this profession. You are essentially doing part of a physicians job for less 2-3x less the money, so should be compensated accordingly.

3 12 hour shifts for 110 to 120 grand a year. God, I should have gone to nursing school😂😂😂. I’m doing 10 to 14 hours a day 6 days a week just to break 40 grand😂😂😂

I have worked as a correctional officer for 3 years. At 26 I am leaving my job and starting nursing school next week in hopes to become a NP in my early 30s and have a more fulfilling career. Thanks for the video man.

So happy to see someone new in the NP game give us the tips and changes in the Nursing world...I will be starting my 1yr BSN program in June and after I graduate next year, I am going straight to either an MSN or a DNP program so I can get my NP license ASAP. Love your channel.

I just stumbled upon your channel and I’m so glad I did! I’m also an NP. I have a DNP and I am the lead APP for the palliative care department for my medical group in So Cal. I love your videos!

Damn. You just made my day with your honesty. I just got accepted into nursing school. So excited for that. But you just opened Pandora’s box with your video. I was wondering if I should do NP after or MD and the biggest draw back for me was that I thought I wouldn’t be doing three 12s anymore as an NP. This information is monumental. I am a family guy and want as much quality time with them as I can have and now that you’ve enlightened me with your honesty. I know my route.

I am so excited!!! I am in ems. 4 years experience. I will be working on my paramedic next year (10 month program) for more experience and better pay. Then I will work on my BSN while working as a Paramedic. Then I will be doing my NP while working as a nurse. I am fortunate to to live in the city of MCG/GRU/AUMC (one of the oldest medical schools in the SE and quite competitive; it's easier to get into MUSC in Charleston then at AU) and I interact with the MD and NP there giving report on patient care, and they are who I am attending my paramedic program with, as well as where I will be attending for my nursing and hopefully my NP. This video was very informative.

Believe me, what ever you do never give up, finally I've become a NP on my 3rd attempt, I can’t believe I almost gave up after not making it for the 2nd time, fortunately for me I was recommended to a tutor by my friends

Hi. I'm really enjoying your channel. I know there are NP that make $200, 000 in mental health. I'm here in Washington, D.C. where there are NPs establishing their own practices. I the advantage with them is that NPs don't feel they have to get the physician group's "permission" or, approval to advance their profession. Keep up the great work you are doing!

Great video. Thanks a lot. This is the best video on NP Salary that I have seen so far - good content and straight to the point.

I appreciate the honesty when it comes to salary. You are absolutely right that salary shouldn't be the only factor - but it shouldn't be completely disregarded due to the time, effort, and investment you will be making as a student (not to mention the responsibility you will take on as a NP). I have been on the fence about going back to school to become a NP. The job itself is something I have always wanted to do, and the high salary is also very rewarding, BUT the one thing I love about nursing is my job flexibility and freedom it provides me. I am such a free spirit - so the thought about being tied down to school for 2+ years is discouraging on its own, not to mention I am worried I will be chained down as an ARNP. Can any NPs give me any insight on this? Will I still have freedom & scheduling flexibility as a NP? This is probably the factor that is holding me back the most.
