The PS5 is now officially entering its 'latter stages of its life cycle' according to sony. Since the ps5 has no games its basically means that the ps5 is dying without ever having exclusives worth selling the gaming console for. it only sold 50 million copies, half as many as the playstation 4.

I got the ps5 at launch. I don’t really have any regrets but boogie is right. You literally could have skipped this and played all the same games on the ps4. I honestly can’t tell the difference between the ps4 and 5 versions of the games. Now that I typed that out I suddenly have some regrets 😂

Scalpers put a huge hurdle up for this generation. It was 2 years before I saw ps5’s in stores

I think the way it was so difficult to get the ps5 when it first came out didn’t help overall, but it did help the hype I guess

This generation of consoles has been disappointing game wise outside of the switch.

The only reason its losing sales is because people just dont have the money to shell out. Its a hard time for alot of people since the pandemic hit 4 years ago.

They raised the price in the middle of the consoles life cycle (instead of dropping the price, which was the standard up until that point.) Then they wonder why they are not hitting their sales targets.

Exclusive games are not really exclusive when you can wait a few months and play it on your PC.

These companies keep giving you less and charging you more money. This is just another example of why I stick to old retro consoles and my PC for gaming for the last few generations.

I, for one, am tired of these companies phoning it in and then expecting money to rain down from heaven for their minimal effort.

Inflation is horrible at the moment. The fact is that people have more important things to worry about (like keeping a roof over their head, feeding their family, and keeping the lights on) to concern themselves with buying an overpriced game console that their multi billion dollar corporation can not even bother securing more than a few exclusives for.

The funniest thing about all of this is their response. Since no one is buying their overpriced game console with few exclusives, they had decided to prepare for the release of a more expensive (probably with a few slight hardware upgrades) console.

Because when someone isn't buying an item, selling a similar item that costs more money is always the ticket. 🙄

If they do not do better, put in the work, and provide some real high-quality exclusives, then I do not see the PS6 fairing any better than the PS5 has. Especially if there is not a price drop half way through the consoles life cycle.

I paid $500 for my games to load faster and for my PlayStation to not sound like a rocket ship heading to the moon.

I never felt the need to get a PS5 since most new games are available on the PS4 as well

Could also be that at launch you couldn't touch one for less than 1500 dollars. Then you finally get one and its just another electric brick to watch Youtube on.

If the scalpers didn't lock up the production for the first 2 years maybe it would have had a better chance of succeeding. That's made me decide not to get one

This is why Nintendo will always be super in demand. Their games don’t go to PC, I just wish the controllers wouldn’t drift so much and the system is so far behind

Ever since I went PC, never looked back. I hate Sony for the past few years between their shit controllers and the censorship of games now. Sony will never get my money again.
