i've got two 9 year old siamese algae eaters named Shirley and Mikey, they're absolutely amazing and even though they've gotten less active due to old age, they still do a great job at eating algae! 100% recommend!

I love their shark-like bodies & gentle nibbles.
A nice character, for sure.

I had one of those and I couldn't agree more. Mine jumped out of a very small opening in the top and my dog retrieved the fish and delivered it to me in another room. Another sad story. Can't escape. Carry on mate.

I've 3 of these fish in a 110 liter tank. They are indeed peaceful and keep the tank clean. They eat almost anything, fishfood, cucumbers intended for the plecos, and yes even dead fish, and one time I saw one of them eating pleco eggs that were just laying on the sand.

these fish are awesome according to the researcher's report. Sadly, these are not available for us in Jamaica as fish- -keepers to own. Thanks for this share my brotha. Stay safe.

I love how they look, subtle and majestic, wait is that a male betta? That makes this fish a very good option for algae eaters, btw how big is your tank?

They have a good personality too and get quite tame. Though they do get quite big so I'd say don't put them in smaller than a 4ft tank.

As they don't have a swim bladder they are quite hardy aswell. Less vulnerable to infections/diseases

Mate! I love your tanks! it's been a minute since i last watched ur vids soo its realy nice to have a refresher! i heard from a few vids that siamese algae eaters might eat plant's, but i see your tank looks great and your plants are healthy. Should i be concerned about that? also i heard that it's tricky to tell a male from a female siamese algae eater, an that they can't reproduce in home i just really wanna know if it's it would be totally awesome if i can breed any way nice tanks and a great channel! have a great day! God bless :)

I think they're pretty cool, I use to have some years ago but I don't have a big enough tank any more. Good video! 👍

Great video 👍

They are great algae eaters but I have seen my SAE eating new born albino bristle nose placo's in my tank

I setup a 55 gallon tank just for my Siamese Algae Eaters. I have 3 of them and they were just too large for my planted tank and would constantly eat my stem plants.

Can they live w/ a pair pearl gouramis & a small school of leopard danios & rummynise tetras plus other small bottom dwellers (4 pepper corys, 1 farowella, 1 bristlenose pleco, & 1 ribberlip pleco) in a 38 gallon? Thank you & beautiful aquarium!
