We recently purchased a 36” rcs series open burner range and are very pleased with it. It’s very much like a traditional commercial range, but with the addition of insulating panels, which allow it to be installed between cabinetry. The slide out tray makes for easy cleaning of anything that drops down below the burners. We’ve put aluminum foil in the tray pans for easier cleanup. If you make an adjustment to the simmer burner with a flathead screwdriver, you can get the low setting to be the next thing to no heat, just warm.

It replaced our previous range, which had sealed burners. Spills would get seared into the stainless top of the stove and be impossible to clean off.

Excellent video I like the rotating host duties. Good combination so much information. I’ll have to watch it a few times. Thanks again.

Its great that Bluestar offers 3 price points in their gas ranges. What would be REALLY amazing is if they had 3 levels for their gas range tops! With the range tops, there are only 2 series and it would be great to have the option of a lower cost version (RCS) that could be a great option for those of us who don't need the 22k BTU burners.

I wanted a Bluestar- because I could get it in blue and went to ADU appliance in York Pa to see one in person. Bluestar is made in Reading Pa about one hour from where I live. Very well educated associate relayed to me NO Bluestar, there is no one near you to repair it. Now if I go 6 miles south into Maryland no problem. Those licensed techs won't come to Pa because their license doesn't travel with them. I wanted all the upgrades and the polished brass accents. Do I take a gamble that the unit will never have a problem as my whole kitchen remodel revolves around a blue counter top and blue oven?
As Yale admonishes us-find out whose going to fix any problems BEFORE you buy an appliance.

What is reliability data on Bluestar compared to LG? Customer satisfaction seems to be all over the map. I'm in the market right now for a 30" slide in gas range and I am stumped. Any thoughts are welcome.

There are so many more videos and info about ranges vs a rangetop with separate oven/s. For any given brand are they made the same, with same power and capabilities or are you losing something by not choosing the range? For example is a Wolf range interchangeable with a Wolf rangetop and oven? I don’t think I’ve ever seen this question addressed before. Your videos are of great service to anyone researching appliance purchases, thank you!!

Ironically i actually just commented about an hour ago on the LG range video about it's broiler, which is the one thing holding me back on that range vs something like this Bluestar or a Miele for way more money. Any info on the LG studio broiler, aside from being not as powerful as an infared?

Doesn't Samsung also offer true convection (heating element behind the fan) in some of their all-gas ranges along with LG?

The open burner Bluestar is easier to clean than sealed burners, but reviews tend to place too much importance on high power. The problem is at the other end of the temp spectrum - lower heat cooking. The Bluestar I had was too powerful and wasn't good a lower temp cooking. I'd argue that more cooking is done in the low to medium power than at full. It's most annoying to set something to medium-low and have it scorch if not well attended.

The bluestar is commercial quality, the lg may have the same performance but doesn’t have the longevity. I own a bluestar and lg and Samsung are real trash comparatively.
