Simple Trick to teach your dog to bring toy back

How to teach your dog to bring the toy back to you or fetch. In this video, I show you how to train your dog to stop playing keep away with the toy. Many dogs like the German Shepherd in the video will pick up the toy, but want you to chase them once they pick it up. Rather than chasing your dog with the toy, put a long leash on them and teach them that when they bring the toy back to you, you will play a game of tug with them. This method is an effective way to teach your dog to bring the toy back to you rather than running away from you with the toy.
Show your dog that interacting with you with the toy is a really fun game.

Another great tip i used on my dutchie when he was younger was the trading game. That requires two equal toy´s, when he´s going after the first toy im picking up the second one, he will then try to take em both, but i will only trade once he have let go of the first one

I am commenting late, but this is one of the most helpful and unique techniques I have seen. People keep suggesting toy swapping and nailing recall, but none of that works. My dog just does not believe coming to me is more fun than keep away. I am going to try this with the long leash in my park. I tried this at home and it was promising.

Is there a chance that it's inappropriate to use a ball on a string that is nice to chew? Meaning the dog is more attracted to chewing than tugging?
