How To Tell If Your 1st Gen Airpods Pro Are Fake (Apple Airpods Pro A2083, February 2022)

6 ways to tell if your 1st Gen Airpods Pro are fake:
1. Box & packaging differences
2. Font on the packet of stickers & user manual
3. Weight of the case and Airpods Pro earbuds
4. Battery life of the Airpods Pro earbuds on a single charge (without putting them back in the case)
5. Battery display on the popup menu window on your iOS devices (I show an iPad but the same issues will pop up on your iPhone)
6. Sound quality overall, ringing noises, and how good the noise cancellation works

4 things that may seem suspicious but are not clear indicators of your Airpods Pros being fake:
1. If you check the serial number on Apple's website and it's not valid, then it's fake. But if you check the serial number it's valid, it does NOT mean it's always real. The good fake pairs also have real serial numbers
2. Having the popup menu on your iOS devices and the ability to turn on noise cancellation does NOT mean its for sure real, the fake pairs also are able to trigger the iOS popup menu and settings menu
3. The CE logo and FC logo are different depending on what country you're in, the CE is used in Europe and FC is used in the US. That doesn't mean anything
4. The "Assembled in China" or "Assembled in Vietnam" text can be different depending on what country it was made it, that isn't a clear sign it's fake either

There are a lot of these fake Airpods Pros for sale around the internet so just be careful. While they still work as headphones, it would be pretty unfortunate to get scammed by someone selling them saying they are real and trying to charge full price

Even though these Airpods Pro retail for $250, I wouldn't ever pay $250 for a real pair. They are almost always on sale, as you can see I was able to get them from Target for $175 but depending on when you check on Amazon or another retailer they are usually "on sale" between $170 - $200

@Fake Vs. Real Mines almost exactly the same with miner things like mine says CE but I’m in America I’m pretty sure they just got shipped here but the big thing is I can do any of the settings stuff like transparency or noice cancellation idk if it’s something I have to turn on but I can’t find it

I have heard that the real one and fast way to check AirPods is to do it having 2 iOS devices connected to one Apple ID. You connect to first device (iPhone) and then if you could use it with another device with the same Apple ID without reconnecting - that means AirPods is original.

I was unable to determine if mine are fake or real. It seems i would have to purchase a known real pair and compare side by side just like you did.

Put your phone flash light on the inside of the flip cover and you will see 2 objects in the cover one on the left and one on the right of the real Airpods Pro and only one object in the fake. I'm not sure what it is but it's another way to tell between the real and fake. Shows eazy in low light but can be seen in normal daylight conditions.

I hate doing this because it will be corrected by manufacturers :

On the sealed box

- Look at the fonts of any real apple product.. they don’t change NEVER .. It’s a proprietary font of Apple.
-The Barcode Numbers on the real box are wider and thinner and the seal line sits though evenly.
- Serial numbers ending with 1059 (MagSafe) are made in Vietnam. 1NRC (MagSafe)made in China.. if you have these numbers and it says “wireless charging case” it’s FAKE
- European models Usually have the “Apple distribution International..Ireland ..etc” But never have Foxconn (FCC) on the same box .

On an opened box:
-Try wiping the AirPods logo on the box with a wet white cloth. It should NOT stain the cloth or fade the logo nor creases

On the AirPods

- CE (European certification) is always on the left side and Serial number on the right.
-FCC certification (USA, Canada ) meanwhile is on the Right and Serial number on the Left
- The FCC or CE should be on the Airpods themselves .
- Only on First time pairing out the box should NEVER !!!! Say “NOT YOUR AIRPODS (Pro or Max)” . It should read “ AirPods (Pro or Max) “ and a Big connect button (NOT A blue text)
- Reset the AirPods after first pairing and see if all the features are available
- Try replacing one side with a proven genuine AirPods or it’s Case from Apple and reset the AirPods with them together .. they should sync perfectly.

I think mine are real but I'm still skeptical due to the poor construction quality of the case. I'm not sure if this is standard for apple as this is my first product from them, but its frankly very disappointing

So guys one way to check if the airpods are real or fake..is to connect them with two devices..let's say..iphone and iPad (you have to be on both the devices with same Apple ID). And now try to switch between the two. The real ones will switch seamlessly. The fake ones won't because not connected to cloud.
This is one way which I checked one piece which I came across. Apart from that, everything was cloned in fake one. Also with regards to Automatic noise cancellation and transparency mode, in fake ones, there is no difference in between the two modes. But then I read some users who didn't face any issue with the fake ones as well. So I guess some premier clones have ANC working well. Therefore my opinion is to check the device, try connecting with two devices and then switching them. Hope that helps !

The only way to check your AirPods Pro authenticity: You can
check if they're fake by shining a light under the lid of
the AirPods case. If they have a number printed onto
them or one black square on one side, then they're fake. If there are two
black squares on each side of the lid, then they are
