Holy crap !! After being told it was the dishwasher pump and a faulty garburator and both needed replacing. I cleaned out the bottom of the dishwasher then took the hose from the dishwasher to the garburator off and put it in a bucket to make sure the dishwasher was draining properly. It was working fine, so I then took your video advice and raised the hose then re-attached it to the garburator and guess what ? That was the only problem. Everything works fine now. It was so simple. Thanks Grumpy man.

Using a simple rerouting hose. Brilliant I can’t believe I did not think of that. I’m telling my wife I did that will give me some brownies points. Bravo sir.

Wow!!! I have been scratching my head for three weeks trying to figure this out. This started back then and I cleaned the inside of the dishwasher like I have seen on 100 different videos. Then I checked my drain lines for any clogs. When I hook the lines back up I didn’t have it high enough and it was backfilling from the sink. Thank you so much.

I've had to watch about 5 or 6 other videos before I got my question answered. Thanks. You didn't really speak the answer but your diagram showed me what I wondered about. The air gap hose. I was going crazy trying to see how to run it. Now I can see that I have about 3 feet more than I need. The hose comes into the cabinet from the dishwasher. It enters at the top of the cabinet, but of course the hose comes from the bottom of the dishwasher. So all I need to do is just have enough of the hose to go from where it enters the under sink cabinet to the air gap. Thank you.

I had the same problem and i was able to lift the hose and tape it to the bottom of my sink and it actually worked!! I was able to see some dark water in the hose right where the water used to back up. Thank you for the video!

Attach the drain hose with a wire tie or clamp so it does not fall down From a Maytag repairman who is not lonely!!!

Great call - I hadnt thought of that at all. havent had any issues sense. But anecdotally the same is true for how you run your water pump to a water cooled PC. never even thought about to apply the same principle but it makes perfect sense.

2 handyman’s visits, 1 plumber visit and few phone calls to LG customer service. None of them was able to figure this out. They all said:
1: I have no idea whats the issue
2: buy a new dishwasher
Until I found this video like 3 weeks ago.
Used my dishwasher for more than 10 times since then and BOOM the AE error is gone so as the flood.
Thank you sir 🙏

Thank you for saving my kids' college funds! I called someone and he wanted to charge me $200 just to come take a look and at the end, he will probably just do what you did within 5 mins.
