I think acknowledging mistakes show a great level of accountability. It's like the employer knows that you are not perfect, so how you handle your mistakes can be a reflection of character. Owning it shows that you are aware and then you will do better going forward.

I have come back from a Traumatic Brain Injury and as a result I have a slight speech impediment and I’m very rusty when I interview. Any suggestions for me?

Hi Mrs. Donnell!! I have a criminal background and I would like to know what should I do about it. What HR managers expect from you when you have a record? Also what do you seek see or hear from that type of individual as an interviewer?
Do you automatically disqualify them, because your boss told you not to hire anyone with background?
Please offer some tips on how to approach the subject so that this type of individual gets higher hiring rates. Can you make a video about this subject? This is a big issue and a huge elephant in the room that nobody speaks about it because people are out there scare of being rejected. I want to start creating awareness and raise hope for this type of candidates like me. Give hope and offer a warm welcome to qualified candidates that can prove useful in companies and become succesfull productive members of this society like everyone else despite their past mistakes.

Thank you

What is the benefit of owning your mistake? Doesn’t that just bring attention to it?
