How To Add An Email Account On Android

In this video, I show you how to set up your e-mail accounts on your Android phone. I show you how to add both POP3 or IMAP accounts (Hotmail, Yahoo, GoDaddy, etc) using the regular email app and Gmail accounts using the Gmail app.

To add a POP3 or IMAP account using the regular e-mail app, open it up and press menu and then new. Type in your username and password and hit next to complete the rest of the set up.

To add a Gmail account, go to the phone's settings, then accounts and sync, then hit add account. Type in the username (your full e-mail account) and password and hit next to finish the set up.

When i press add account it makes me put in my " current password" and i type it in and it says incorrect.

I was most interested in the happenings just after you quit the activation. My EMAIL app is literally demanding to control every aspect of my phone upon activation, which should have been the very next thing your phone showed if allowed to run. Is this normal? Can I get around allowing the email server total control of my phone? Thanks!
