So if you're getting tired of some of the same old-same old houseplants, then why not try your hand at these unusual ones?

Not sure if you've ever thought about it, but you have such a relaxing voice and calming demeanor that I could see you making great science videos for kids.

In the world of plant-YouTube, Summer Rayne's are the best. Actually informative and very helpful. Lots and lots of tours of greenhouse are fabulous. Thank you. I love you❤.
Big fan of yours from Seul, Korea.

I just adore you! Thank you for inspiring me to ‘come to the plant side!’ I now have collected over 200 plants! Love the Rhipsalis and Hoyas! 🌱🌿 Honestly, plants have been my saving grace for living with depression and anxiety! 🙌

We are going on our Day 170 of Isolation/Lock down or Quarantine in my country. I came across your channel on the first month and have watched almost all of your videos by the second month. I have seen a number of other Channels on Plants and definitely yours is my favorite Plant Channel because I have increased my knowledge in Plants be it the type, care, suggestions etc. through your clear, concise and most importantly calming manner. Caring for plants is a contemplative or meditative hobby and I can totally relate to your regarding the plants as your home companions. While others may have a huge collection in their bigger Homes, your Field Trips and most importantly the one where you went to the mountains in Thailand were most interesting. Thank you and hope to see you in my neck of the woods someday.

Great video, Summer. I love it when you talk about your dad. I'd love to see his plant collection. I really want to thank you for the wonderful Houseplant Master Class you have put out. I have learned so much already. And I have all my plants organized now and it will be much easier for me to manage their fertilizing schedule. For those of you who haven't invested in the class, it's a must! It really is a gift of knowledge to give yourself so you can be a better plant parent.

I saw your response on another viewers comment about the fact that you were thinking of doing videos especially for kids! My son and I would love that! He is 7 and has 8 plants and counting in his room. You have even inspired him to create videos for kids about plants! We both enjoy your content so much!

The golden pandan is one of my toughest plant... can endure scorching direct sunlight on an extreme Manila summer (104 deg F) as long as it is watered. Has also survived the monsoons with rainy/cloudy weather.

Your dad's plant setup is adorable! Wish I could get my parents into plant keeping but they claim they had a hard enough time raising me that they don't want to care for anything else in their retirement!

Here in Brazil, the first plants that most of us have at home are sanseverias, monsteras, rafis mini palm-trees, pothos plants, begonias and peperomias. I mean, these are the classic, tradicional ones, very 60s, 70s and middle 80s. Today, monsteras, peperomias and begonias are on a very trendy comeback (along with ferns, geraniums, etc). I would say now, here, are on top all the varieties of indoor ficus trees, zamiolculkas, ripsalis in all the presentations but, mainly, there's a succulent/cacti fever and veggie/herbs for tiny spaces too

It would be exciting to know how Americans would respond to the Pandan plant. If that really kicks off as a new "must have" house plant there, it will definitely change how Filipinos look at it. Here in the Philippines, we don't really see Pandan as an "IT" plant or a big deal plant. Though it is a common plant our parents and grandparents have taken care of for generations, it is mostly grown in the garden and not as an indoor plant. It really loves the sun so I can see it as a challenge to grow indoors. But if the Aloe Vera can grow indoors, the Pandan can surely find a way to thrive indoors.

Very interesting, especially the plant used in flavouring rice. The plants are so similar it's an easy substitution. Thanks for sharing.

I bought my wife a money plant 10 years ago. I liked the idea of buying her something that would last longer than traditional flowers. It was our first plant and has survived much neglect. Now with the help of people like you it is thriving!
